Beside my artistic core activities, I am since 2014 also building up knowledge and skills in DJ’ing. I feel it very giving to communicate with people through mixing music for them. Typically, I work with a broad range of genres, taking it easy at the beginning, and intensifying the mix as the party goes, both in terms of pace and in power of the single tracks, and finalizing with some calming pieces. My ultimate goal in DJ’ing is to make people move in a friendly crowd and help them build energy together.
Setup
My preference is an audio-visual setup consisting of laptop, DJ controller, audio system, and a screen or projector for mixing music videos. So far, I’ve been using Native Instruments‘ controllers Traktor Kontrol S4, in combination with two Kontrol D2, as well as Behringer’s CMD Studio 4a. DJ software controllers I’m running on my laptop include Traktor Pro and VirtualDJ.
